Suffolk Pride brings Bronze home to Suffolk

Mauldons Brewery’s Suffolk Pride took home Bronze in the Best British Bitter at the SIBA Independent Beer Awards at BeerX in Liverpool. Gold winners from the SIBA Regional Independent Beer Awards, held throughout 2023 in the SIBA regions, were entered into the SIBA National Independent Beer Awards 2024.

Judging took take place on 14th March at SIBA BeerX in Liverpool and saw Suffolk Pride, a full-bodied, strong bitter, bring Bronze home to Suffolk. The SIBA Independent Beer Awards 2024 are organised by the Society of Independent Brewers and Associates at BeerX, the UK’s biggest beer and brewing trade event, taking place at Exhibition Centre Liverpool. This year saw more entries than ever with some fantastic beers from all over the UK.

SIBA Competitions Chair Anneli Baxter, who helped run the huge judging and was on hand to congratulate the winners had this to say on their achievement commented: “It is incredibly tough to win a category Gold at a regional level, so to then go on and be named amongst the very best in the whole of the UK at the National Awards is a massive achievement that these brewers should be hugely proud of.”

Charlie Buckle, Managing Director of Nedging Hall Estate, commented: “I am immensely proud of the team at Mauldons Brewery. This award is recognition of the hard work that goes in to producing a delicious pint of Suffolk Pride. I am also proud of Suffolk, the wonderful heritage, hospitality and countryside that we are so lucky to enjoy every day – so to win with a beer named after the county is brilliant”.
